Exclamation 1988 monte carlo SS 200R4 to 700R4 Need help!!!

Hey guys i could really use some help here, I'm pressed for time because my lease is up and I'm in the middle of moving, and at the same time I'm pushing to get my car on the road ASAP, I've got the 700R4 in and bolted up, the car runs and everything works (So far, knock on wood!), I've got two key problems, A. How much do i have to get the drive shaft shortened, i measured 3 inches, is that correct??

The second problem is the shift linkage, Right now all i have is the Linkage cable that comes down from the middle of the Transmission well, This metal curved bar assembly that comes down from i THINk the area around the steering columb, and thats all. What do i need to hook this back up?! please help me out here guys, this is a very stressfull situation!

Also, I've heard i might have to adjust the TV cable????? I honestly have no idea how to adjust it, i know what and where it is, and what it does, but i don't know how to adjust it, any advice would really help, thanks guys!
