Numerous Throttle Position Sensors

I have a 2001 Quad Cab 4X4, 4.7 V8 with 110000 miles. 3 times in the last 15000 miles of this vehicle I've had to replace the Throttle Position Sensor for rough idle, throwing codes. After replacing the TPS, vehicle runs good for 2 - 3 months, then same issue. I can't believe that all these TPS's have gone bad. Has anyone had similar issues, or know what could be the REAL problem? Thanks

Re: Numerous Throttle Position Sensors

Did you use a factory part or aftermarket? Most after market parts are not the same quality.

Unfortunately, I used aftermarket parts (purchased from Murray's Discount Auto).

Re: Numerous Throttle Position Sensors

If it was me I would get my money back from Murrays and get a factoy part. The other thing that can cause TPS problems on P.U's and Jeeps is the clockspring for the airbag. You would have to unplug the clockspring at the strg column and see if the problem goes away.
