It seems like a good price, the sunroof might be a bad rellay and the AC must have a leak, not too serious. Ask to see the emissions test sheet. When you test drive it if it runs really smooth, GET IT! Oh one more thing, you know parts for those cars are more expensive that e28, right?

Thumbs up Re: Considering 635csi '85

Hi:

7500$ it's a good price but not the best price for a '85 six, in my opinion. I got my 6 for 5000 euro (less than 5000$) in a very good condition. AC is easy to repair, not sure about sunroof, how about seats ?, any oil leak ? hoses ?

Check this page if you want info about buying a six:

http://www.abartlett.co.uk/buyingbigcoupes.htm

Try to get the best price you can obtain but if the car is a general good condition don't be afrait to pay a bit more. A 7500$ six seems a bit expensive, you decide.

Good luck!

More e24 info

I can agree with all the UK information except the steering box loop mount can be fixed without welding. I sell a kit for $38 that is a positive fix.

Here is a BCG link to a checkout list.

http://normgrills.net/bcg/Fundamenta...#anchor2383905

Price should be in the $5k range if the car is very good shape.

I have a 1985 e24 I use for my Dyno tow mule.

Later,

I have an 85 635csi euro stick shift and it is the greatest car ever. Its in xint condition and before i had it i had an 85 325e which was a fun little car. I recommend getting the car.. the value keeps going up so if the car is in good shape then that is about right for price. might want a mechanic to do a little check though before you buy it. just to make sure. jeff

Here is my advise: $7500.00 is a little bit high check eBay i have seen some really good deals going for less then that for an 85, 6 now here is the bad about eBay if you can see it is hard to make a desision, you really have to read the small print, I have purchased two 6 series thru E bay but again the cost of geting the car to you could be the drawback, then again i could ended up beeing the best experience. good luck.
one more thing avoid cars from the east coast where there is too much ice this cars rust rather quick.

seems abit pricey athough it all depends on the condition. i paid $3,500 for my 85 635, w/152k the body and paint on mine was mint althought interior seats were worn, everything worked though. Great cars and worth every penny!

well shite everyone i got my 87 635csi 5-speed for a steal then at $1400 plus the trade of my old beat up 86 325es 5-speed. I since buying it have put a new brake master cylinder, brake booster, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, clutch line, new full sachs clutch kit all for now totalling just over $2600 US dollars. Changed rear seats and adapting aftermarket leather SParco Torino knockoffs to the front. AC Schnitzer chip, and not sure what I am going to do with the exhaust besides make it 3" all the way from headers back for now till I decide on a turbo application!

I will get pics soon once my 88 Chrysler Conquest TSI is gone later this month and I have some time to et the exhaust and front seats in!
