looking to buy 240.. s13 chassis or s14??coled91 01-30-2009, 08:45 PM hey guys im 17 looking for a new car (something i can mod out) and i have decided after looking at numerous cars that the 240sx is the way i wanna go. im not looking to to an sr20 or any other kind of swap right now because i do not have that kind of money. so right now i am just looking to build the ka24de engine but i was wondering, what is a better chassis to you guys the s13 or the s14?? cause that will determine what year i get. i dont know a ton about the difference in chassis so if you could tell me which one you like best and why or if there is not a big difference state that... and also should i get the car and wait till i save up more money and work towards an sr or rb swap?? or do i just start putting money in the ka24 now?? please give me your opinions on that too... and also if i should go convertible, hatch, or coupe.. i was kinda thinkin hatch i like that look alot... all this will really help me in buying thanks slideways... 02-01-2009, 02:07 PM s14 has ultimately a better chassis, but is more expensive. s13 has the different bodystyles and much much more parts available. i would not put a ton of money into the KA. its not easy to get lots of power from it without a turbo, and most mods are expensive. just put money into the suspension, tires, ect. and learn how to drive while you save up for whatever motor you later want. trust me if you start with a twin cam 240 it has plenty of power to learn how to drive on. you dont need 200+ hp as a 17 year old anyways. mid_night_blueS13 02-15-2009, 09:12 PM i would say go with the s13.. its a lighter body than the s14 a lot of mods for it and alot of different JDM parts you can buy to make it look different from the others.. but yeah just save up. do suspension mods. dont do anything with the ka motor unless ur going to turbo it.
