04 Stratus Belt Tensioner

2004 Stratus SXT with 2.4 L DOHC, replaced alternator, need a method to move tensioner to reinstall belt. The tensioner wrenches I have seen and found don't match the model that is on the car... there is a center bolt that needs loosened to move, but no way to grab the tensioner, the bolt has a torque rating for locking it down, but nowhere to 'latch on' and turn the tensioner... there has to be a wrench or tool for it... but can't find one... anyone have any thoughts?

Re: 04 Stratus Belt Tensioner

You normally don't need to loosen the pulley look for a way to move it to release the tension.

You maybe able to borrow or rent from AutoZone or Advance Auto maybe O'Riley's.
