94 intrepid trany limp mode when turning left

well, the title pretty much sums it up. i have a 94 intrepid 3.3 and everytime i make a left turn, it goes into limp mode. can someone please advise what i might check for before pulling and rebuilding the transmission? have done the standard filter, fluid change, 200,000 mi. while in limp, can either park or coast in nutral, shut down the motor, restart, and will reset. lol, can make due, but don't want to burn up the starter. if anyone can advise, i'd appericate it grately.

Did you use ATF+4 fluid?

I would check the connections at the TCM, solenoid pack, input and putput sensor connections for loose, corroded or broken wires. Also check your motor mounts, if bad this could possibly let the engine move when it should not putting stress on your wiring to the tranny.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Re: 94 intrepid trany limp mode when turning left

well, thanks for the advice. yes, i did use +4 w/ lucas. motor mounts are sound and solid, pulled the tcm, pcm, cleaned all the connections, no success. found out that the wires to the trany sensors were worn between the tie rid and heater hose, lol, shorting out on the hose clamp. but again thanks for the advice, wouldn't have found the prob w/o a through check. just gald i didn't have to rebuild the transmission

Glad you found the problem and thanks for posting the fix. Few people do this.
