Gas Smell in Radiator?..........legotech7 01-17-2009, 04:24 PM This may be a first, I just got my oil changed at my mechanics shop, when he says I might have another problem, that I need a head gasket and there is a smell coming through the radiator, that is a gas smell. So I asked If I could smell at the radiator nozzle and shure enough, it smelled like gas and that I need to replace the head gasket. I never heard of this. They did a pressure test and said that there was a leak some where. Is wasn't leaking into the crank case and it's not leaking antifreez in the case either. Can anyone explaine on what it might be and what I might need to do? Thanks Legotech7:smokin: old_master 01-24-2009, 03:37 PM ....This may be a first, If there's fuel in the coolant, and he says that a blown head gasket caused it, it's a first all right! First thing you need to do is find a new technician! It is possible that exhaust gas is in the coolant, (that can be confirmed with a gas analyzer), and a blown head gasket could very well be the cause. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
