I suppose that's the Japanese way of telling American that there is yet another way of screwing America other than the Pearl Harbour way!!! But than again, I don't think the Japanese get to see much of the Vettes and Vipers.

But in japan you can't build cars with over 280 hp *winks*
America is put into a bad position with this....we have to do something about the depleting ozone because of all the crap we get for creating the hole (yeah, it's justified) but then we complain about emissions laws. I think crash tests are justified too, but should only apply to commuter cars and stuff like that. I really don't care if a supercar can't pass a crash test. And, besides, we have noone else to blame but ourselves for the RX-7 and the Z for leaving (and thus the GT-R never even coming). We didn't buy them! What're Mazda and Nissan supposed to do?

Is the hole over US bigger than anywhere else? I suppose it boils down to pure economics. For the GTR to come, money has to be spent for compliance, promos, assemblies have to be made for the car to be manufactured in the US etc. The fact that Americans drive on the wrong side of the road also does not help When everything is done and yet Americans don't buy the stuff, that's tough man! But I heard the RX 8 and the new Z are coming to the US. Enjoy.....

u can get a skyline here through a company called motorx but they are a shitload of money. the main orob is due to the position of the turbos nissan cant get the steering wheel over to our side.

america not getting the elise is due to Lotus, isn't it? They just didn't want to bring it here because they had too large of a market in Europe, so why bother? Now they plan to bring it over because the market is too large to ignore.

hi guys i,m from oz, we, like the US didnt and most likely wont get r33, r34 gtr but we did get 100 r32 gtr back in about 1990. We also get low volume imports, same i guess as what motorex do. (i have a r33 gtr it rocks.)
the reason why motorex charge so much is that they had to crash test 1 of every variant that they would sell and also work out all of the items that required removal and replacement to comply with the laws of the US. this was very expensive and time consuming.
but the thing is that you CAN buy a gtr in America!

welcome to AF adam!!
It's very awesome that you own a GT-R,
are there any pics that you can post here?
You can just attach em from your hard drive, if you don't have them on the web.
BTW, gt-r.ws will be delayed

Some rich punk should import 49 skylines and sell 'em, cause if you "produce" less than 50 cars you don't have to crash test or make them emmissions compliant...right?
