steering wheel & door lock help

what up??? i need help removing the steering wheel in my car. i get everything off including the actual steering wheel nut and seems like is free but then it won't slide out like is supposed to ....rigth???? am i missing something???

You need a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel.

there gotta be another way to get the steering wheel off without that tool...does anybody else know a trick to it.

Well they are pressed on, and you really need a puller to do the job right.

But, sometimes you can pull the wheel off by putting both of your forearms behind the wheel and striking the wheel towards you.

Its hard to explain w/o showing you but this may help.

Though I don't reccomend doing it this way, as you could damage the threads on the upper sterring shaft or deform your wheel.

Bottom line use a puller you can buy them for as little a 5.00 dollars.

ok i'll try the s. wheel 1 more time. now i'm trying to sell this car and the freaking door lock broke! i can turn the key and unlock the door allrigth but when you pull on the door handle from outside the door won't open. anyody had this happened to them???

If you have a autozone where you are you can rent the puller for $10, and when you return it you get your money back. As for the door take the door panel of and make sure everything is all hooked up.:coolguy:
Sometime things can come unhinged on the in side.:xelicon:
