Hi everyone,
My 02 Monty has developed a noise, almost like a rattling noise at start up when engine it is cold. I was told that this is not something that may hurt the performance, but it bugs me!!! :confused:
If I start the vehicle after sitting for a while will have this noise. In order to avoid it quickly, I have to shut down the engine and start it again. Sometimes it takes up to 3 times to have it gone away.
I suspect to have an issue with my starter??? :sleeping: since everything seems to be fine and without issues.
I went over and done a complete tune up and timing on it. It has less than 90k on it.
As I want to keep the vehicle, I would like to get this fixed and take it out of my mind.

Any help and ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like the hydraulic timingbelt tensioner is leaking. It is possible that the tensioner can allow the timing belt to jump time if it gets bad enough.
