1996 Monte Carlo Z34...replaced starter now things aren't workingGNRAxlRose88 12-30-2008, 02:19 PM The starter on my Monte was turning hard, so i forced it to start one last time to drive into my garage and after that it just clicked. Went to a junkyard and got a new starter out of a newer Grand Prix and bolted it up. Now the starter still clicks and the fuel pump, radio, door dinger, and a couple other things don't work. (can't hear the fuel pump kick in, radio is aftermarket deck and doesn't need a code, and the the door dinger...well you can't miss that.) the headlights come on tho, along with the idiot gauges. Map lights don't work either. I hate electrical, but can't afford to pay someone to figure it out...so here i am. maxwedge 12-30-2008, 03:49 PM So the used starter did not correct the original issue correct, what about the other problems, when did they happen? Makes sure the battery cables and grounds are good and the battery has sufficient charge. Post back results. You've got a bad ignition switch. 2. Your positive battery cable is bad/dirty/loose/corroded (it has one branch that goes directly to the starter, and one that goes to the underhood relay center that distributes power to the accessories. 3.
