It' unbelievable to see how the driver watches the mirrows during the mulsane straight 6th gear 7000 rews about 300+kmh, big V12 shouting at the back, "hands up for thanks" on the other driver when got past him! GREAT! And the sound full thortle on the staight!
God I miss that time! OH! And the gearbox! Look the gearbox! Working totally different way than usually! Up -> front and down -> back of the gearstick! OU MY.....JUST SHOCKING!

Was the gearbox working at 021R (Lehto-Soper 1997) the same way or did they had modifications of this thing!?

I watched that clip again, whit VOLUME. Just fantastic to hear just the most importat thing, ENGINE SOUNDS and nothing else!! :runaround: Many times McLaren's diferent angles! The sound at the straights...... is so.....unbelievable!

Quite strange how the chassis numbers changed during the 1997 season. Lehto-Soper used three different chassis during the season.

A1 Ring race 26R.
LeMans 24R

Could anyone had a clear answer of this question, why they changed the chassis serval times during the season? Is there somekind of changing an old one to the new chassis thing going on of what is the subject?

I was surfing some crash compilation videos (long day), and I came across a clip of a longtail GTR in the black 'Davidoff' livery being struck by a Porsche. At the top left corner of the screen it says 'EuroSport Live', and in the video description the author says the clip was lifted from an old VHS tape.

I'm not sure if this is new but it was an exciting find for me.

I remember that it was Davidoff McLaren, GULF colored if I remember right. There was onboard and side of track views also. There was atleast two different videos at that same race. And the year was 1997.

Yeah plus quite a few of mine from Florida of Don Wallaces car! its kind of flattering to be honest, i realise that once you put them on the net they can end up anywhere. I often see my pictures on other sites but never on a video before!:biggrin:

Yep, this is the thing today. I have couple of times faced samekind of things, and both times the image users have been draw them of their sites when I have called there or sended an email. Both cases were an avitation images.

Allways should ask the permission if someone want's to use somepody's else image.

There is many of great sounds, God I miss this kind of sounds!!!! Speciality those long clips where you can calculate the gears when the car disapears on to the straights..... AH! And fortunately there is serval that kind of clip, McLarens and long time.....!

All 96 GTR,s for road use, have to be fitted with a 95GTR or road car spec gearbox, to achive the correct ride height/suspension geometry. Thus making it an expensive road conversion.

I have not heard ( youtube or any of internet videoclip) I think any 95's GTR roadconverted GTR's (or now just can't remember :uhoh: ) but many of 96's I have, includin the LM's where the gearbox defenitely makes a big noise.

So the main question is; does 96's GTR gearbox it make less that scream noise than 95's GTR?

And really, have they changed 96's GTR's the basic F1 roadcars gearboxes??! Can't be.......or is it? :eek7:

Start 3.00-5.00, Harrods #06R followed by Yacco #05R and finally #01R flatout under the camera bridge at the Mulsane straight and continue next straigt one after one past the camera!

I have to say, that BMW engine sound is freezing to hear, everytime. Propably the most legendary sound of GT Racing ever.

Pretty cool - delivery of chassis #065 following the RM Auction almost one year ago, and if you look very closely (6:32) it appears that #031 is also in the room with them.
