No power

ok my mom has a 98 slx with 140k and a few months a go she was driving it and there would be a loss of power, and she would roll her way home... like at 5mph and within the week it would go off and on and finally it just barely rolls. egr valve was pulled and replaced. maf is partly white on its honeycomb. she said that at first there was power loss going up hill.

also car revs fine when in part but when shifted to drive you could go half throttle and the car will barely roll. where is the drainbolt for the transmission fliud? i fear the worst and going to check for metal >_<

Re: No power

Has the ATF fluid ever been changed? At what intervals?

If ATF has never been changed or very infrequently, then yes a fried tranny is very likely.

Is the engine reving but no take-off power?

Could also be a plugged cat.
