2001 Yukon XL cold weather starting problems

Okay, I am in desperate need of some ideas. For the last two years I have had trouble with my Yukon during the limited time that we have cold weather. My Yukon has 125,000 miles. I have recently (within 2 years) replace the fuel pump, battery, and alternator. It runs fine almost all year long. During the few weeks of cold weather that we have in Texas if I have to leave it parked outside it will not start. It just clicks. Occasionally it will finally start on the 20th or so try but most the time it will not start until tempatures reach 50 or so. The voltage on the battery is fine. When it is in this condition it can not be jumped off. Once it does start it is good for the remainder of the day. It only has problems on the first start of the day after sitting outside in cold weather.

Recently it has started idling rough, after reading the forum and rulling out some things I think it may be the Idle control valve. Could this have an effect on the previous mention problem?

I have had it in my local shop several times but the problem can never be duplicated becuase he keeps the vehicles inside to avoid theft or vandalism.

Any suggestions?????

I had a similar problem with my '95, starts were always slow, but on cold weather it was reduced to a click. Taking the starter off and cleaning the casing and connections thoroughly did the trick, as it wasn't grounding properly. Haven't had a problem since.
