My twisted seats in my 1991 5 series BMW

The seats in the front of my 91 Bimmer are twisted each seat one side only moves. How do I fix this problem. Please I'm open to suggestions.:headshake

It's a pretty common problem with the E34's. There's a mechanism inside the seat that needs repair. I had it happen to my old '92 525i. You need to find a local BMW (independant- not a dealer) service place; they'll know how to fix it. As I recall, my seat repair was about $200. Good luck.

Had this problem with my E32 electronic adjusted seats. you have to remove the seat from the car. Underneath the seat is an electric motor with a Cable drive to the tilt gearbox.If you remove the cable you will find that the inner cable has slipped down & no longer drives, remove the cable & cut a small piece of rod & drop into the offending socket on the motor & re assemble the mechanism then replace the seat . should now work fine.
