2002 Trailblazer Lt with vibration/shudder problem

When I accelerate from a complete stop my vehicle sometimes vibrates/shudder and then goes away immediately. I don’t feel this vibration any other time…had the transmission fully serviced and no problems were found. I think it's coming from the front right (passenger side) but hard to know for sure. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Without an onsite road test it is impossible to make any meaningful suggestions here, wheel shudder?, engine shudder?, way to vague as I said.

Unhappy Re: 2002 Trailblazer Lt with vibration/shudder problem

I am having a simular problem and mechanics say they don't hear/feel anything. My problem is when I excellerate it revs way louder than it's suppose to and when I am stopped, foot on brake, not in park, it vibrates and is still louder than it's suppose to be. When I get the reports back from mechanics, they've entered what I've said the problem is wrong. The latest solution given by 2 mechanics, one being a Chevy dealer, is motor mounts (supports) needs to be replaced, a $500 job. They say it's causing the vibrations and possibly the vibrations are causing the loud noise down through to the back of the car. A third place said he doesn't see a problem with them and wouldn't change the mounts unless they were broken. But does see a small hole developing in the muffler, something he didn't see the first time I brought the car to him. I'm at a loss and feel I can't trust any of them.

Re: 2002 Trailblazer Lt with vibration/shudder problem

Welcome to AF. Same answer as above, no way to tell whats wrong without onsite diagnosis. The fan clutch if locked up can cause a loud roar like a helicopter,. Did anyone hear or fele what you do, and they say it is normal or have not felt the problem. If The Chevy dealer says mounts, let him do it with a written money back guarantee if not fixed.
