Butterfly Screws & Engine Failure

I'm considering buying an X Trail (2005, here in Canada). Does anyone know if the Canadian X Trails were prone to sucking butterfly screws into the combustion chamber and killing the motor? I'm getting different feedback on this topic as I research it on the Web.

One site said it wasn't a problem on the 2.5 litre motor on X Trails here in Canada...only on certain sedans (Sentras??). Another site (Australian based, I think) said that X Trails were affected by this problem.

Any thoughts?
