Tranny question

i have a sohc tranny that needs a rear engine plate/ dust cover/ starter mounting plate. my question is will the sr20det mounting plate work for the ka? btw the motor that the sohc tranny is going on is a dohc.

probably not. but all it is is just a dust shield. unless your driving through some shit on a daily basis i wouldnt worry all that much about it. plus you can just install one when you find one. just notch the plate so you dont have to slip it over the input shaft and you dont even have to drop the transmission to put it in then.

the problem i have though is the starter wont fit all the way into the bell housing with out the spacer or whatever its called.

oh right. hmmm i wonder if i have one laying around...probably not though.

go to a junkyard. or put an extra washer on the starter bolts until you locate one. it should be the same from a RWD early 90s truck also, but like i said i dont know for sure.
