Exclamation Peugeot 206 Rear wheel wobble **please help**

Hi,

This is my first time writting one of these so I will try and describe the problem as clearly as possible and hopefully someone will be kind enought to help.

About a month ago (just after MOT) my car started making a banging noise when I drove over small bumps in the road and the car felt like it had a loose wheel . I checked all of the wheels for tyre pressure and tightened all the nuts to make sure but all was fine.

The problem has progessively got worse and I noticed that the rear driverside wheel is wobbling really badly when I am driving. I tried shaking the wheel when the car is stationary and it is much looser than the other back wheel, I also checked the hub nut and it is tight. I have been told that I could need a new rear axle but this costs £350 just for the part. Could anyone shed some light on the problem or give me a possible cheaper remedy before I go spending all that money on an axle when a smaller part might fix the problem.

Thanks in Advance

Rachel
