Jingling Metallic noise in rear brakes

I have a 1999 Yukon SLT 4wd we have been hearing this noise for a few months now and we finally inspected the rear brakes after numerous searches under the rear checking allmanner of possibilities. We found that the springs and a metal bar were off and bouncing around causing the noise. My question is where can we get a replacement bar, husband called it a spacer bar? Next question is can we drive with out this bar? The brake hardware kit we got did not include this part and the salesperson at our local parts store could not locate the part?
Thanks for everyones help.

The "bar" is what seperates the shoes when the E brake is applied. Without it the E brake cannot push the shoes out. The dealer will have them or you can find them at you local salvage yard. If you go to a u-pull they may just let you have it for free.

You wouldn't happen to have part numbers?
