2000 Tahoe/Yukon Window will not go up by itself all the time.

The drivers side door window goes down, but will not go up all the time. When it does go up, it does not quite make it and it is necessary to assist it with hands pushing up. Window appears to "cock" at bit. What to do? Whole motor/regulator assembly? Direct me to site with instructions? Thanks in advance.

I just replaced the window regulator on a 2002 silverado..the cables break and the motor gets water damage...very poor design...

remove the inside door panel 3 screws then lift up 1/2inches and pull away...the plastic door panels/switch control pop off...spray plastic to ease removal...of the pieces that hide the screws..

the regulators I got were from 1a auto parts..they have free shipping and the price for the driver side and passenger side was 150.oo...delivered..

they have a lifetime warrantee, and ship in 2days...

when installed grease cables with white lithium grease, then spray silicone on the rubber window guides...this will ease the load on the motor...remove excess silicone...

this is common and widespead defective design..the cables rust out and the motor is not water resistant....not very hard to do ...I can do the job in less than 1 hour while drinking a cup of coffee..

Thanks for the information, but things seem to be more that just the regulator. Sometimes, all works fine, independent of temperature. With the glass sometimes "cocking" to one side, seems that there would be an issue with the guides. Or, a combination of all the above. This is why you suggested lubing the tracks and guides.

When the window goes up crooked it's because the regulator wire is broken. Regulator replacement is the only cure.
