96 T/C Brakes

96 LXi FWD - The brakes feel a little spongy and they appear to release slowly from a stop, almost like they're grabbing. I replaced my FL Caliper thinking I may have a stuck one but that made no difference. I also hear what appears to be a slight whisling sound coming from the rear of the vehicle when I apply the brakes. Does it each time I push on the brakes. Not sure what that is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
