Hey guys, here are a couple of Ferrari builds I started recently.
Hasegawa 250TR and the Fujimi 250 GTO.
Both will be using KA-models excellent PE/turned wheel sets and various Detail sets from KA, Hobby Design, Crazy modeller and Studio 27.
Feel free with the questions or comments.
Here's what I've done so far.
Regards, Dan

Here is the progress on the Testa Rossa.
Tamiya TS8 Italian red was layed on today, I will leave it for a week to gas out before it gets the micro mesh treatment.

The molded in seat piping was removed and will be replaced by white wire.

Do this steering wheel comes with one of these models?...if not, which PE set comes with? Great job so far on both!
Thanks

Steering wheel rim is from the Hasegawa kit with the plastic spokes cut away.
The spokes are from the Hobby Design P/E set, and the horn button was turned on my dremel using various sizes of aluminium tubing and topped of with the kit supplied decal.

That steering wheel looks awesome. Iīm starting to regret that I didnīt explore any of these PE-sets. Copying Klutz to say that I look forward to the rest of the build. You donīt seem to have faced any problems with that "body panel"-line?

Great looking builds. I'm anxiously waiting for the 250 GTO with the DX parts by KA models to be released. Those Hobby design PE sets really do look nice! I may not wait any longer?

I have managed to get the TR's paint polished and added decals and lights etc. Still have to wax yet.

I couldnt resist a mock up on the chassis.... I just love those wheels.
I almost added the racing numbers but decided against it at the last minute.

Looks very nice!
I have the impression that you are compressing your photos too much (47k is very small) which is resulting in poor quality of images (and that doesn't do your work justice ). BUt maybe it's just my monitor.....?

I think you might be right Klutz.
I'll see if this is any better:

Progress has been really slow on these two... It seems I get too easily distracted by other builds...... but I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem???
Anyway, here is a very minor update just to show that I do occasionally spend some time on them.
The TestaRossa engine has received its plug leads, distributors, fuel rail and turned intakes.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Ferrari%20250TR/TRupdateengine.jpg
An overall view now that the body has been completed, polished and waxed.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Ferrari%20250TR/TRupdateoverall.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Ferrari%20250TR/TRupdateoverall2.jpg
I haven't forgotten the GTO either.
I have decided to build it as the Penske/Pabst car from Sebring 1963.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Ferrari%20250TR/Sebring63_Bluemel-Pourret-250GTO_P7.jpg
I have cut the extra vents into the front gaurds accordingly.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v67/obscurepizza/Ferrari%20250TR/GTOUpdateoverall.jpg
The car has been reprimed and painted in Tamiya white, once this has cured I will mask off the white areas and apply the metallic blue.
I'm using the Decals from the Revell/Protar 250GTO for sponsors and roundels/numbers...... Its really about all that is usable from this kit.
I also received my Hobby Design Detail set recently and can't wait to use some of these cool turned and etched parts for a bit of extra realism.
Questions and comments welcomed.
Regards, Dan

Just to prove that I'm still working on this one, here is another minor update.
Seat piping was added using small white beading wire and CA cement.
seatbelt buckles are from the Hobby Design set and belt material courtesy of a Fujimi GT40 kit.

I'ts almost finished now.
I just need to add lots of little details, such as fuel lines, door hinges, wiper etc, then a final touch up and polish.
Here are a couple of sneak pics in the mean time.
Hopefully I'll post some pics in the completed section in the next few days........ then I can get back to the 250 GTO.

I had a change of heart and decided to paint the GTO red also.
Once again its Tamiya TS-8 Italian red over white.
Still need to add lots of little body details, such as handles and lights etc.
And Ive barely touched the chassis or interior, other than cleaning up.
Hopefully I will feel motived to get this one completed soon.
