1997 to 1998 engines

I need to swap my 2.4L Cavalier engine with my 1998 Sunfire 2.4L engine can I just swap the engines or is there more to it than that?
Thanks

Re: 1997 to 1998 engines

One thing is to check the knock sensor and I know a trick up my sleeve if it is differant.it maybe the long wire one or the one wire screw in.If it is the long wire one, make a threaded bushing and tap a 8mm x 1.50 hole in the center of the bushing, same with the outside thread, tap that one to thread of the old style knock sensor.I have a warning on the 2.4: Do not turn backwards.Turn the crankshaft as you are tightening a bolt only.If you turn it backwards, you bend the valves.Pull the crank pulley and remove the bottom mount, you have more clearance when getting it out and in.
