will not start

Hello,
Request your help. My 89 Firebird will not start when the engine is hot, I have to wait 20 or so minutes to cool off before it starts again. Appreciate the tips. Thanks, john

Re: will not start

Kind of slim on info. Does it shutoff on its own when it get hot? If so I would have to start with the ignition control module.

Thanks for your response. Not, it does shutoff on its own. It won't start if the car has been driven for more than 10 mins. All the components, lights.... work. The battery is new and the starter about a year now. Also, it passes the security check (chip on key) so I know is not that. Thanks,

Re: will not start

Check for voltage at the starter when turning the key to statrt. Voltage yes=bad starter. Voltage no = electrical problem.

Re: will not start

Also check the positive wire from the battery to the starter, it may show voltage but can't carry a load when hot (breaking down internally).
