Blower motor dying?

On my 92 k2500 when I turn on the fan the volt gauge drops well below 14 volts. I'm wondering if this is normal or if the blower motor may be dying. Is there a way to check the blower motor? This truck doesn't have AC (or any other power options), and last year I installed a rebuilt Delco 85amp alternator. Thanks.

Re: Blower motor dying?

Does it blow air as normal or slow down?
Dash gauge readings are not very good.
Always check voltage at battery or fuse box.

A amp meter will check amp draw on blower motor.
Is it poping any fuses or resistors?

See replies above
Voltage at the battery measures 14.08 at idle & no blower.
Voltage at the battery measures 13.96 at idle & with blower set at high speed.

What is the correct way to measure the draw?

Re: Blower motor dying?

You need a good volt/amp metere to read whatamps it is pulling.
your battery voltage is good.
If not blowing fuse or resistors packs and the blower is blowing good.
I should be ok.
