Fuel Pressure Readings. FYI

I just replaced my fuel pump at 117,000 mi. Truck is running great.

Starts like factory new.

Fuel Pressure readings:

Key on, no start = 55 psi

Engine running normal, idling = 48 psi

Engine running, pull vacuum line from fuel regulator = 55 psi

Engine off, holds pressure for about an hour or two, goes to zero.

Gauge is a Actron #cp7818 test kit, bought at Pep boys for $40.00.

the pressures appear a little low....have guage tested for accuracy...

Re: Fuel Pressure Readings. FYI

I was thinking the same thing.

Not sure how I'm going to check the accuracy of the guage.

But the truck does seem like shes back to normal.

if the gauge is shocked hit dropped even slightly it can go out of cal...if you had another gauge to check accuracy like a tire guage...just to see if it is the same ...keep guage in a box with foam for protection from shock....
