Thumbs down 2002 LX problem with AC when idle

I have a 2002 chrysler sebring 2DR hardtop with a 2.4 SOHCWhen I run the air in my car if i set still for a few minutes my temp goes all the way up and the air coming out turns hot if i mash the gas in neutral or start driving the temp comes down and the air is ice cold. I checked my freon and it seems ok. also the serpetine belt is intact. What could be the problem?

Sounds like a fan problem.
