2002 elantra problem

I'm trying to find out some info and maybe someone can help me. There is this car that when you drive it, all of a sudden the check engine light comes on and it seems as though the transmission is going out. But has been in shop and no problem with transmission. Can someone tell me if they have had the same problem and if you know what to do about it.

Thanks.

If the light came on, you should still be able to recover a history code in the computer. Might want to get that first and give us a starting point to help you.

Go to any Autozone and they'll read your codes for free and tell you what it says.
