Tranny fluid leak

So I just bought an 86 trans am/fire bird, rebuilt engine/tranny, original 305 turbo.
After moving it to my house, I noticed that it started leaking fluid under it, by morning, it was a huge puddle..
Im hoping its just a simple thing like loose spngs or gasket, what else could it be though?
Pretty choked atm.
Hoping this aint gonna cost me a fortune to fix as I alrdy splurged on the ride.

Re: Tranny fluid leak

If you didn't have a puddle, then you ran it, shut it off with no leaks, then came back a while later and had a puddle. I would say its the front seal in the trans. Not too expensive if you do it, but a PITA to do IMO.

Huh? No such-a-thing as a 305 "turbo".
Check your speedometer cable atthe transmission and see if it is wet with fluid. If it is then the seal at the speedo gear is leaking, they generally only leak when the car is sitting still, not running and it takes aa while before it starts doing it after driving it.

Can't be that either. A 305 block isn't interchangeable with a 350 block, the 350 is a much larger bore and you can't bore a 305 out that far.
Try removing the dust cover and see if it is wet up under there.

Well, I got no clue what the heck he means, but what he says makes no sense and is impossible.
