Re: I am thinking about buying a 2000 Dodge Stratus...any bad news?
ive owned two of them, one i got to 146,000 with a 4cyl with absolutely nothing ever giving me trouble except at 135,000 i put a head gasket in it to fix oil leak, and at 110,000 a fuel pump. it would have went a lot longer, but got in fight with an old oak tree and lost. My second cirrus, a v6, has been mostly trouble free until recently, but it now has 189,000 miles. now it is about time to stick some money into it, cuz every gasket leaks oil. but overall, its been a very good car. i do recommend the 4CYL over the v6, much better mileage and reliability is better too. i have owned a 94 chevy blazer wtih 198,000 miles, 2003 buick rendezvous w 75,000, 98 toyota sienna w 54,000 , 89 honda accord got to 240,000, two 97 cirrus's, and a 98 jeep grand cherokee 110,000. so far the jeep has been the worst nightmare, and the cirrus's and honda the best! hope this helps!
