No quick answer for this, try the tap test on the pcm, see if the engine responds in any way, those year pcms were troublesome. Use a screw driver handle and tap the case firmly, engine running, see if anything happens.

Do the tap test when it is running, see if the engine responds in any way.

Re: 1991 lumina problems # 2
ok well i put a new ECM in it today, i just went and bought one since i had bunch of coupons at a local part store and got it for pretty cheap and the car idles alot smoother and seem to run better buuuut it still doin what it is doin gave the engine codes 22,34,35 and all of them have been replaced but the connector for the map sensor has not been replaced and neither has the IAC sensor i was told that they all link together when you have a problem so i bought a map sensor connector today and plan on splicing that in tomorrow and cross my fingers to see what happens

Re: 1991 lumina problems # 2
well im making progress, I was getting codes 22,33,34 well now im down to 34 i put a new connector on the map and that went off then i still got 33,34 then i adjusted the tps connector since i replaced it once and then that went off and now im down to 34 and i look at the wiring and it was the same deal as the others so since no part store around here sells it or wants a butt load of money for i have to order it online so im kinda anxious to see what happens

Re: 1991 lumina problems # 2
just a question, would bad wiring connection for the idle control valve cause the car to die after it gets hot? the car idles high when you first start it and when you shift to drive it almost wants to die but once you take off its fine but car wants to take off when at a stop, but when it gets hot and comes to a stop it wont idle at all, the idle control valve has already been replaced along with bunch of other sensors, oh and i also get the engine code for the idle control valve
