Headlight mounting problem

I have a friend with a strange problem. Following a close encounter with a deer and some body panel replacement, her headlight jumped from the socket and luckily hung on by the wiring connections. I haven't had a chance to look at the problem myself, but 5 folks have tried to fix this with no luck.
I have replaced headlamp assemblies on New Beetles and it seemed straight forward enough. She was told the mount was cracked preventing proper securement. I have seen fenders and bumper covers, but have no idea about the holder "tunnel" or where to get one. Any advice?
