leaking torque hub seal

I have a 94 taurus with a leaking torque hub seal. I was wondering how much of a leak would warrent immediate replacement. I have also done a tachometer stall test to determine the condition of the clutches and received a reading of 1570. The specs say the reading should be 1791 to 2097. What does the low reading indicate?
