ringing sound at cruising speed

Its definitely not a whinning sound from the powersteering it is got to be the tranny. the second you touch the gas pedal you can hear it, sometimes it goes away which makes diagnosis a nightmare. does anyone have any ideas its a 05 with 45K miles. I just can't figure out what is making this noise

To me it sounds like the ring gear and pinion in the transaxle.
