1996 Cavalier Cooling Fan stopped working

The electric fan on my 2.0 liter, auto stopped working.

The 30 amp fuse under the hood is good. I also removed the cooling fan relay and jumped the terminals and the fan runs.

Theres another relay on the core support near the battery...does anyone know what it's for?

The temp. gauge also works fine.

Is there a sender switch on the block that signals the fan to come on?

Thanks in advance for info.
