want to put '97 doors on '96 xj

so I got nailed by a cart in a walmart parking lot the other day and now I have a crease almost the width of my front passenger door. Rather than fix it, I was wondering, would the front doors off a '97 (or later) fit my '96? I'm interested in putting the '97s on because they have full frame windows. The divider on the '96's windows has always bothered me when checking the drivers side mirror, and I figured this swap might kill two birds with one stone. Anybody know if it's doable?

Re: want to put '97 doors on '96 xj

Hmm i would almost think that it wouldn't work just because 97 was the year they updated the xj, and then if by chance it did fit the electrical hook up's for the PW PL are way different, if your really set on it i would measure the doors on the 96 and 97 and see if it would come close to fitting
