90 XJ electrical guru question

I got a set of KC off road lights for Father's Day and after putting them on have a few questions. First off I replaced the set that came from the factory and just spiced into the existing wires. The issue I have is that the lights work in sync with the headlights, so they only operate when the headlights are on and also only on low beam. The lights I got are for offroad so I would like to have them work even when my headlights are on high beam. Is there a way to wire around the high low beam condition so I can have the lights on regardless of the beam setting? The other thing is I can always rewire completely but I would like to use the switch that is already on my dash. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 90 XJ electrical guru question

There's a good diagram of how to wire it up. Most auto parts stores that sell offroad lights also sell a wiring kit that usually includes the wiring, switches, and relay's for the lights. Best way to do it would be to wire it away from the factory fog lights using a relay so the lights would get full power. You can still use the factory switch if you wish you'll just have to cut off the wires to tap into them for controlling the lights.
