All power to the passenger side door is routed through the driver's side door harness. To bypass it would also bypass the fuses that are in circuit...kind of a fire hazard. It would probably take just as long to fix the broken wire in the driver door harness as it would to jerry-rig it. Not trying to be a stickler, just looking out for your safety. In the event of a broadside collision, the chance for full battery power to course through those little wires is great...not a good scenario.
The driver's harness comes out relatively easy after unplugging all the connectors from the door and the foot well connector box. Pull the rubber sheath away from the fatigued section and splice in new wire..don't try to just solder the ends back together because the break will happen again soon where the inflexible solder joint is.
