89 F150 Steering Column Swap

I have a manual (floor shift) steering column that has alot of play in the steering wheel. I recently obtained a steering column for an automatic from the same year. Neither one are tilt. Can I swap these steering columns and what is the procedure? I know how to unbolt and remove the column, just not sure about the column shifter and possible wiring conflicts since the new column does not have cruise control. Any help would be appreciated.
