Blazer problem under accelleration

I have an 01 blazer Xtreme with a 4.3l and an automatic tranny. A few days ago it started to act funny under accelleration but only if I push the throttle down more than about 20% it feels like its misfiring. It through the code P0300 which is a random cylinder misfire. I have platinum four plugs in the motor. I have also tried changing the ignition control module, which didnt work. I don't see any spots where the wires have arched. If the A/c is on the problem is worse, as well as going up hills. I am not sure what it could be. Has anyone had this problem before? Anyone know what it could be. Someone told me it might be the PCM, but that is pretty expensive to replace. If anyone could help I'd Greatly appreciate it. Thank you all very much for your time.

Anyone that uses the plat 4 will have them problems.
Pitch the plat 4 in the trash can and get the good Ac -delco plugs the ac -delco book calls for.
If that does not do it post back and someone will help you.

Re: Blazer problem under accelleration

I have been using them for over a year. Do they normally take that long to make this problem?

Re: Blazer problem under accelleration

P0300 can also be caused by faulty plug wires and/or distributor cap and rotor. Again, don't waste your money on aftermarket stuff, stick with AC Delco.

Re: Blazer problem under accelleration

Something I forgot to add earlier is that when it starts acting funny the check engine light starts to flash. Then my ABS and brake light come on. I don't know if the ABS light has anything to do with it. Thank you all for your help.

Re: Blazer problem under accelleration

It's normal for the SES light to flash when any P0300 series DTC is being set. Take care of that problem first, then deal with the ABS light...if it still flashes.

It all depends. But you are luckie to get a year out of them.
Pitch them in the trash can or take them backmto the store that sold them to you and demand your money back on a good set Of the rigfht AC-delco plugs.
As old master said other tihings can cause a miss.
Bad wires, low fuel pressure,Maf sensor and camshaft retard setting.
But Bosch plat 4 are at the top of the list.
Good luck
\and let us know how it goes.

Re: Blazer problem under accelleration

I pulled the distributor cap off yesterday, It looks shot and the rotor button isn't too much better. So I cleaned them both and it works somewhat better. The caps diodes were worn down so I really need to replace both. Also My coil is really loose if I am gonna replace it should I go aftermarket with an Accel? And what Accel should I buy? Thank you all for all your help. I am gonna change the plugs and wires when I change the cap, rotor button and ignition coil.

Ac-Delco is the only way to go.

Flashing light is a missfire or engine running rich and system is shutting down to save the cats.
For help on yours start a New Thread/post and some one will help.
Also check codes and post back in the New thread the codes and mileage and engine info and tune up histoty.
And someone will help you.
