Unhappy 2000 Astro Can Air Condition Issue (on Not Blowing)

Hello me again with another astro issue. This weekend I turned on the a/c and I can hear it working and feel very little air if any blowing out of the vents (very cold) but out of the defrost vent it was blowing cold
I turned on the rear air which works just fine. I noticed sometimes in winter to that when I had just heat on the switch indicator not much blew to the floor I could feel through defrost and vent locations. Could it be a duct problem? a vacume problem or relay maybe the switch. It just doesn't seem to cycle yet is cold

any help would greatly appreciated now at this hot time in spring (june 9th)

thanks once again to all that view and reply the answers and suggestions alwayas helpful

Re: 2000 Astro Can Air Condition Issue (on Not Blowing)

The problem with air distribution is most likely a broken vacuum line somewhere between the PCV valve and the vacuum T near the AC accumulator, (under the hood, passenger side). It is a 1/8" black plastic line that routes across the top of the engine and over time, dries out and breaks. Splice it back together with rubber line and you should be good to go.

Thumbs up Re: 2000 Astro Can Air Condition Issue (on Not Blowing)

THANK YOU OLD MASTER.

AT FIRST I FOUND IT , BUT IT SEEMED ATTACHED SO I WALKED AWAY AND WENT BACK A COUPLE DAYS LATER. REVIEWED YOUR INFO AND BINGO THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT AND WHERE IT WAS. I HAD TO REMOVE THE AIR CLEANER UNIT BECAUSE IT BROKE BEHIND IT AND REPLACED WITH A RUBBER HOSE.MADE SURE IT WAS LONG ENOUGH AND STAYED OFF THE TOP OF THE MOTOR ALSO.I WILL NEED TO REPLACE MORE AT THE TEE AROUND THE AIR UNIT ITSELF BECAUSE THEY ARE IN BAD SHAPE , BUT FOR NOW I HAVE AIR.THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. I HAD THE HOSE AND MY TIME AND PROBABLY SAVED ME 1/2 LABOR (45.00 BUCKS ) PLUS SUPPLIES AND TAX ...ABOUT 60.00 BUCKS I CAN USE TO TAKE THE FAMILY CAMPING THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND. THIS SITE IS AWESOME AND VERY HELPFUL i HAVE RECOMMENDED IT AND PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS PLEASED TO KNOW THE HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGABLE PEOPLE OUT THERE !!!! THANKS AGAIN. NEXT PROJECT FIXING/TESTING LEFT DOOR ACCUATOR.
