Dead GTP

I have a 2000 GTP Supercharged with a bad rod. (i'm guessing, it knocks like crazy). It's been sitting in the garage for about 8 months and now I've finally got it paid off and am going to sell it as is. What would be a reasonable asking price? (2 dr coupe. leather, Bose, all the bells and whistles). I saw in Parade magazine a few weeks ago an ad about a class action lawsuit regarding the Dex-Cool coolant with this model being listed. Does anyone know anything about this? The car was well maintained and don't know why the loud knock developed.

Re: Dead GTP

Sounds like a perfect time to pull your engine and put some serious engine mods Cam, heads, rockers, ported LIM/charger housing?
How sure are you its the rod. Is it a deep knock or more like its up in the valvetrain somewhere? bad rocker, or pushrod? What kind of plugs do you have in right now?

Or since you wont get much out of it with a blown engine(if its the rod) I could just take it off your hands for you

You might be able to get a couple grand out of it but it all depends on the cond, miles ect.

Re: Dead GTP

The class action lawsuits is old news. You sure the GTP or any GM cars with the L67 supercharged SII 3800 engine are included? Last I heard it was just applicable to the NA L36 SII 3800 engines, the GM3100/3400 engines and the 4.3L engine.

What color is this GTP and how many miles are on it?
