Tranny issues

Hi I have a 97 Bravada with 118k on it and im having some problems with the tranny. my main problem is that first gear shifts pretty rough. right before it shifts it's like theres a dead spot right around 2500. seems like it's almost just disengaging and then engaging slowly. just had the tranny flushed and transfer case fluid changed. The tranny feels loose in general compared to my old 93. i understand that the tranny shifting is controlled by a computer, could this have anything to do with it?

Re: Tranny issues

Get it on a transmission capable scanner and check things out.
Post back any codes.

Does it shift hard in all gears or just one or two.

On a steady take off what ar the upshift mph?

A flush will sometimes kill a transmission.
Was dope or a fit all fluid used with the killer flush?
Was filter changed or just flushed?
Was it acting up before flush?
How mant miles on it?

Any codes or check engine lights?

Re: Tranny issues

There are no check engine lights and the shop i brought it to reported no codes from the scanner. they informed me that the filter did not need to be replaced after they checked it. the only gear that shifts rough is 1st and after the tranny flush it seems to shift a little better but is still a bit rough. 118k on the tranny

WHAT IS THE MILEAGE ON IT???

WHAT IS THE SERVICE AND REPAIR HISTORY ON IT?

Any chips or shift kits installed?
Any engine running problems?

There is a lot more to checking a transmission out than just getting codes.
A good transmission capable scanner and a tech that knows how to read it is the key.
If the transmission has a problem it will show up in the transmission data stream read out.

Transmission slip and shift adpt data and shift time and shift errow seconds.
Also engine running problems will affect transmission shift,

Get it checked out by a good repair shop that knows what they are doing.
Good luck
