Question Fuel pump test wire

I have a '96 Chevy S10 extended cab pickup, 6-cyl, 4.3L, SFI. It will crank but not turn over and after reading many posts for the S10 Blazer (haven't found any posts covering my make and model p/u) I think it may be a problem with the fuel pump/pressure, etc. but can't start to diagnose anything until I find the "test wire."

The posts I've read, concerning the location of this elusive wire states: " . . . under the hood on the driver's side next to the fender, under the hood hinge. It's a red wire that has a gray or black plastic cover on the end of it and it just hangs there next to the electrical junction box, not hooked to anything."

Is the wire in a different location on the S10 pickup? The photo in my repair manual, supposedly showing the wire and where it is "not hooked to anything", doesn't help one bit!

Anyone's assistance will be most appreciated!

Re: Fuel pump test wire

Middle of left front fender apron area.
Single wire with a red plastic end.

Or you can jumper the gray wire to fuel pump.
