3 days of having car with an overheating issue..

hey guys if someone could give me any ideas itd be much appicciated. i just traded in my 2000 blazer for a 3800 2003 Impala LS with 85,000. while im at a stop the temp will creep up just a bit (over the normal line) i relize this could be nothing because my girlfirend has a 01 Olds Alero which always has and always does do this same thing. hers is the right temp (195) the gauge is just off... i just wonder because i owe nearly 10,000 on itit is not leaking any coolant or burning any (the res. and radiator are both still full)also the car has done this all 3 days of owning it. thanks much for any input!

if the a/c is off this is normal....put a/c on if the temp returns to normal you are good....if it goes higher you need to inspect for a failed componet.....
