A/C Problem99toyrun 05-27-2008, 02:06 PM 99 4Runner 150K miles My A/C is not blowing cold air anymore. Everything seems to be working, I can hear a click when it starts, the rpm moves a little higher, etc.. The air is somewhat cool but not as it used to be. Also, I have not noticed any drained water under the vehicle when parked and the A/C on. Last year I changed the radiator and I have not used the A/C since. Is there any relation between the two? - Maybe some common cooling lines? The dealer wants $200.00 just to check it out. fourwd1 05-28-2008, 08:22 AM Nothing common between the AC and the radiator. The AC condensor is mounted in front of the radiator, but is not connected. More than likely there is a leak and you are low on refridgerant. kornesque 05-31-2008, 06:34 PM sounds about right. you can buy a/c recharge kits that are infused with dye that is visible under UV light for less than $50. have personally had great results, but have heard horror stories involving overfilling, which is bad for the compressor. if you decide to go that route, do some research and make sure you're comfortable with the process before doing it. g'luck. scrollmaster 05-31-2008, 10:17 PM 99 4Runner 150K miles The dealer wants $200.00 just to check it out. Should be a qualified independent shop that will check for you for much less than this. You really need someone to put the gauges on it, the readings can tell service guy a lot.
