1971? FORD 1 TON DUALLY...Help?awagner2007 05-20-2008, 05:45 PM I resently purchused a 1 ton Ford Dually off a relitive, but the manual I bought for it is not the right one, the old registration says it's a 1970, but I took my VIN # (F35YCJ83357) off my door, down to Ford this morning and they tell me, as near as they could tell it was a 1971 Ford "body"....When did they stop building engines with the oil bath air filters????? Cuz mine has one!......It has a V-8 engine sitting vertical under the hood, and a 4 speed manual transmission...If anyone can help me determine what the hell kinda engine is in my truck it would be greatly appreciated..... Thanks for your time... ~AMANDA~ FNA 05-21-2008, 02:22 PM 1971? F35YCJ83357? F350 with a 360 2 barrel made in Canada in August 1970. Look near your alternator for the engine VIN location awagner2007 05-21-2008, 04:12 PM Engine says it's a 352ci, numbers on intake manifold..C9AE9425-B....no full VIN # on the vehical anywhere the only one I got is from the door, F35YCJ83357...6 didgits short! Reads Ford F-100 on front fenders, Ford Ranger on dash, and Pickup on old (1993) registration....What is the truck Model? What is engine year? FNA 05-22-2008, 02:51 PM "F35YCJ83357...6 didgits short!" 6 digits short for what? Not to be a VIN - F35YCJ83357 is exactly the right length to be a '71 VIN. There was no production 352 for '71 - in fact, not for pick-ups since '67. Probably a 360 as I noted, sources say many blocks stamped 352. You do have other VINs on your vehicle, you just haven't found them. FNA 05-22-2008, 03:06 PM TTBOMK, It's an F350 if you have dual rear wheels./ How many valve cover bolts do you have?
