2003 Impala engine shuts off after starting it up.

So the problem I am having is that I will start the car, the engine will start and everything is good. Go to put the car in gear, but when I press on the gas the car doesn't move. I look at my RPM's and it is at 0. So I will have to put the car back into partk and start the car again. The car always works after the second time I start it. Wonder if any one has any ideas on what could be my problem.

Give it a little gas and see if it will go OK.
If so you may have a IAC control problem.
Start with cleaning the IAC valve and TBI butterfly.
Is it getting any check engine lights?
How is the tune up end?
What engine and mileage and service history?
