White Smoke and Water Out of Exhaust

There is white smoke and water shooting out of my exhaust and the water i put in the radiator comes straight out the exhaust upon cranking ...... does anyone know what might be wrong or what parts might need to be checked or replaced to fix the problem

Re: White Smoke and Water Out of Exhaust

could you be a little more specific? sounds to me like the notorious intake manifold gasket, but it might be a little more painful like a head gasket.

It would sound like a head or intake gasket. Is there any water in the oil? How does it run otherwise?

Re: White Smoke and Water Out of Exhaust

it pretty much will not run at all...upon cranking it just sputters and within mins will be running so hot that the car has to be shut off

Re: White Smoke and Water Out of Exhaust

hate to say it but it sounds like it's the head gasket. Check the howto if you want to save a bunch of cash. It really isn't too bad of a job, but it won't be easy either.

How long has it been like this? You might have piston ring, or bearing damage or worse, it might be worth your time to do a full rebuild, since you will be in there anyway.
